WellRead in June

This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger ★★★★
I really enjoyed this odyssey story. It felt long and slow at times, which made it ideal reading for a low-key lake weekend. I’ve heard a few people say they couldn’t finish it, but I found it worth the struggle. A beautiful coming of age story!
Black Buck by Mateo Askaripour ★★
The first of Jenna Bush Hager’s picks that I wasn’t really a fan of. There are inspiring aspects, and the story is ultimately redemptive(-ish), but watching a character make poor choices and hurt the people he loves for 200 pages is not the most satisfying reader experience...
Buckhead Betty by Piper Ozmer ★★★★★
MY FRIEND WROTE A BOOK. I REPEAT. MY FRIEND WROTE A BOOK. My awesome gal Piper (and my writing accountability partner :) ) wrote a KILLER mystery novel (pun intended). I had so much fun reading her thriller.
The Silkworm and Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith ★★★★★
I guess I’m officially a Strike fanatic. (I rented the BBC mini-series from the library.) I’m LOVING this Sherlock-esque saga. And the best news is that J. K. Rowling (aka Robert Galbraith) is not finished with it yet. If you love a good detective story or a great series or both, this is a fun summertime read!
Love Robert Galbraith!
Haven't read the others. Will have to give them a try. Thanks!
