AVERY GARN

I recently read an article that compared writing to life-guarding: the job is not about you, it's about the service you provide. Even though a lifeguard is usually sitting in a lofty chair with loud, red paraphernalia, the purpose is not to call attention to the lifeguard himself. The purpose is to make himself available, to let people know where they can find that resource.

And that is my goal here--not to call attention to myself, but to offer a resource of words. And hopefully those are ones of hope, of comfort, of healing.

I write mostly about what I've learned about grief, about grit, and about the unbelievable grace that God has shown to me, to all who call him Father. And sometimes I just write about a good book or a great candle.

Thank you for stopping by!
